Absurdia: The (Meta)Physical Edition coming to Backerkit!

Big News! The physical edition of Absurdia is coming to Backerkit this fall!

Many of you have asked (pleaded? cajoled? menaced?) me about the possibility of getting a physical copy of Absurdia. As a first time game designer I was very wary of biting off more than I could chew during development, but since the release of the 1.0 version I've been delving into the world of crowdfunding, production, and fulfillment and am ready to make this a (sur)reality!

But I can't do it without your help.

You know how this works. Printing is only cost-effective at a certain scale. Crowdfunding is as much about marketing as it is about determining pre-orders. The Economy(TM) is an unfathomable entropic horror that has fully metastasized through society and enmeshed itself in the human psyche.

So what can you do to help? I'm so glad you asked!

• Follow the campaign. Go to Backerkit and click that beautiful "Follow" button. Pre-launch followers help show momentum for the campaign and gives me a sense of scale for budget, print volume, stretch goals, etc.
• Spread the word. Tell your friends. Tell your rivals. Tell your coworkers. Tell the garden gnomes secretly plotting against you. Tell the Screaming Fog. Word of mouth is the best possible form of advertising.
• Tell me how you like your bells & whistles. You (and I) may not like it, but increasing average pledge value through high value swag tiers is what peak crowdfunding performance looks like. I'd like to offer one or two higher value rewards tiers that both 1) help the project fund and 2) offer the real Absurdia sickos out there something rad and worthwhile. I've been exploring different options and would love to hear what you all would like to see included:
  • A deluxe edition with an alternative cover, edge trimming, and/or bookmark ribbon
  • A (small) original soundtrack inspired by the game's touchstones
  • A pack of faction-inspired stickers and/or patches
  • An absurdly impractical and expensive item that maybe one person (you?) will buy (i.e. custom bureamancer tie, entropic eye bean bag chair)
  • A secret fifth thing? Tell me about it!

itch doesn't include a poll option unfortunately, so drop a comment below to let me know your favorite(s). Campaign scale and ease of shipping are important factors here (no custom dice, sorry goblins) so I can't promise the most popular option will be included, but knowing what you all are interested in is tremendously helpful.
